Partner Food Programs:
Placer Food Bank is the local partner for two national food distribution programs including; Feeding America (America’s Second Harvest) and the USDA Food Program. We are also a partner with Northern California’s Food for Families program.

Agency Partners:
The Placer Food Bank currently serves 55 local, charitable organizations  including food closets, soup kitchens, supportive housing, domestic violence shelters, senior centers, and children’s and youth programs among others. While these agencies have a variety of needs, we aid them in meeting the most elemental of all – food.

Placer Food Bank supports a number of food programs including USDA Emergency Food Assistance, the Backpack Program, as well as the wide range of charitable organizations mentioned above.

People Served:
Over the past year the Placer Food Bank served 411,937 individuals through its member agencies and organizations.

Food Distributed:
The total amount of food distributed in our community over that past year totaled nearly 4,137,655 pounds!

Food Sources
The Placer Food Bank receives food donations from national food programs including Feeding America (America’s Second Harvest) and USDA, as well as from Northern California’s Food for Families, and a variety of national and regional food manufacturers, retailers, producers and growers. Community food drives are also a key source of food donations. When necessary, additional food is purchased at pennies on the dollar through our national food program partners.

Volunteer Hours:
Eighty-five volunteers donated more than 4,000 hours of service to Placer Food Bank. This generous gift of time is the equivalent of two, full-time employees!
