The Following are Food Bank Programs:
USDA Emergency Food Assistance Program (EFAP)
EFAP program is has no fees! Food items are distributed in various combinations depending on the allocation received by the Department of Social Services. The list of foods is extensive and the following is a small example: (whole chicken, canned pork, peanut butter, apple sauce, canned pears, rice, green beans, raisins, cold cereals, beans and pastas). Back Pack Program
The mission of the Back Pack Program is to meet the needs of hungry children by providing them with nutritious and easy-to-prepare food to take home on weekends and school vacations when other resources are not available.
Food for Charities
There are 55 charitable organizations registered in this program that provide food programs in Placer County. They are located in Roseville, Lincoln, Sheridan, Auburn, Colfax, Meadow Vista, Rocklin, Loomis, Foresthill, and Grass Valley.
Foods available for this program are Feeding America donated food, “Food for Families” store donated food, Farm to Families Produce program, Purchase Program for charities, Save Mart Distribution Center, and Sam’s Club donations.

Currently the Food Bank has experienced a tremendous growth in services due to economic problems. Our new projection of families served per month is over 17,000 per month. An anticipated additional 400,000 lbs of food is required to keep up with the growing need. |
